Uptown or Downtown?
Taylor may think I'm her Google Map, but I proved otherwise yesterday. Maybe it was the anxiety about our first day of work or the thousands of people pushing and shoving, but we managed to jump on the uptown subway instead of downtown. We were in Harlem before we knew it, but we quickly jumped on the right train. I thought we were in the clear with 13 minutes to spare to walk two blocks to work from Grand Central Station, but yet again we started heading North when we needed to be going South. We took a 10 block detour, but luckily managed to get to work two minutes early.
We did much better today. No detours for us. It was a straight shot to work.
Speaking of work, we did NOTHING yesterday! Okay so maybe that's over-exaggerating, but our first day on the job consisted of Faccebook, blogging, starring at Taylor's shoes (thanks Mr. Sullivan), and some McDonald's. I'm realizing that being a Creative rocks. We get to sit around all day and come up with ideas. Our creativity process could include, but is not limited to, playing putt-putt in the hallway, watching YouTube, escaping our cubical to see a movie, or starring out the window.
New York is truly the "Concrete Jungle". You feel lost and intimidated being at the street level with skyscrapers all around. They start to look the same. If you're lucky you can see a slice of blue above you. But Taylor and I lucked out getting a window desk on the 22nd floor.
I would like to point out the homeless man who mooned us this morning. Its not what you think. Mooney, I'll call him, was wearing pants, but they had no butt! And they weren't chaps, he had just worn out the butt of his jeans until nothing was left.
It is a different world out here. But we love it!
